Community Development Coordinator
Job Title: Community Development Coordinator
Employment Type: Three-year, grant funded temporary position. Flexible schedule up to 30 hours per week.
Reports to: Director, Connect Casino Road (CCR)
Date: May 2023
FLSA Status: Salaried, non-Exempt
Class: Part-time, 20-30 hours/week
Salary: $30 an hour
Benefits: Up to 5% retirement match, 10 paid holidays, PTO accrual based on experience.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Connect Casino Road seeks an individual to fill the position of Community Development Coordinator to support community visioning and engagement in the areas of economic development, affordable housing, and community development. This position reports to the Director of Connect Casino Road. The ideal candidate has prior experience in one or more of the following areas: supporting cross sector partnerships, community engagement strategies, workforce development, or comprehensive community development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

Engage with community stakeholders to develop workforce and economic development priorities and advance their implementation.

Coordinate workforce development initiatives, with a racial equity framework, across the Casino Road neighborhood and surrounding communities.

Facilitate and convene meetings with stakeholders to co-design workforce development programming.

Track issues within the community and ensure community programs are diverse and fit various individuals' needs.

Manage a portfolio of assigned workforce development programs as part of the Connect Casino Road implementation strategy.

Develop and manage relationships with community and workforce development partners.

Produce reports and make presentations.

Assume responsibility for special projects and other assignments, as needed.

Assist with the development of programs and the coordination of events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates that can demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position through any combination of experience or education are encouraged to apply.

Minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience overseeing workforce development and / or economic development initiatives; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience working in neighborhoods of opportunity preferred.

Demonstrated ability to apply the application of an equity and a racial justice lens in your decisionmaking processes.

Understanding of the field of community development.

Experience working with community development organizations, public agencies, private developers, funders, and lenders.

Experience working with individuals of diverse views and backgrounds with demonstrated experience in communities of color and other under-represented groups and identities.

Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship/team building skills

Proficient in Word/Excel and willingness to be trained in software/database systems.

Willingness to work occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.

Bilingual skills in English and Spanish preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
